Village People

The thing I like most about Just Mama Jenni is all of the moms it has brought into my life.  I love to discuss parenting techniques, strategies, tips and failures.  Now that I think about it my close friends probably encouraged me to start the blog just to give their ears a break!  HA!

Anyway, what I am getting at is that I don't want you to ever hesitate to email me questions or tips.  You can reach me at .  And don't worry, I would never blog about something you said if you did not want me to.  :)

You guys are great moms and I love learning from you.  Here is a comment from Sheri in regards to Thursday's post "Shoe Store Drama".  I thought it was a great idea and I want to share it with all of you.

"I loved your 'Shoe Store Drama'. [I'm] not quite at this stage [but] I can relate from my own childhood. Having a older brother, we were always shopping for new shoes. His feet were growing and simply wore them out faster than I did. I remember being about 10 years old and just having a melt down over this issue. So, my Mom who did not feel that I was being cheated put two lists on the frig. *Needs* When we would come to ask for something we needed she would put it under our names as needs. We began to learn quickly that each child had different needs. We were treated uniquely, but not identically. I needed a new skirt or tap shoes or whatever, and he needed basketball shoes bi-monthly. It took a while to sink in, but eventually I got the message and could see my needs were being met."
This is exactly the kind of parenting that Siblings Without Rivalry encourages.  Bravo to Sheri's mom!
I would love to hear other examples and ideas.  It definitely takes a village to raise a child.  So as Mr. Roger use to say, "Won't you please, won't you please.  Please won't you neighbor." :)
